Your voice bot should stop talking when you interrupt. Mistral launched Voxtral three on October twentieth, combining new speech models with a toolkit for building live voice agents. The point is a conversation that can handle more than a clean question followed by a clean answer.

Its live transcription model detects when a caller has finished speaking. Mistral says that decision uses both the sound and the meaning of the speech. A pause inside a sentence should not automatically mean your turn is over.

The toolkit uses LiveKit to connect listening, a language model, tools and spoken replies in a streaming pipeline. The agent can stop its reply when the caller cuts in. Separate models handle each stage, so builders can change parts of the stack.

The API is available now. The realtime transcription model is marked public preview. Running the full stack on your own infrastructure requires contacting Mistral. We have not independently tested its conversation quality or timing.

A fluent voice still needs to get the task right. Try corrections, unfinished sentences and interruptions while a tool is running. Watch whether the agent keeps the corrected details and completes the intended action before trusting it with live calls.
