Mistral Large Four is here as a public API preview. The open weights are still coming. Those are two different releases, and it matters if you want to run the model yourself.

It is a natively multimodal mixture-of-experts model, and the documentation lists a million-token context window. The launch post emphasizes coding, agents, and specialized business tasks.

That architecture can route work through part of the model, but parameter counts do not tell you whether your agent will finish a real job. Test the workflow, including tool errors and long documents.

The company is reporting strong results in coding and specialized business tasks. Treat those as vendor evaluations. The API preview is available now; downloadable weights are promised for later this month.
